Reflect
In verse 23, Matthew, quoting from Isaiah 7:14, refers to Jesus as “Immanuel,” a Hebrew name that means “God is with us.” What are your thoughts about referencing Jesus as “Immanuel’? In what ways do you experience God being with you?
Pray
Lord God, you sent your Son Jesus into the world so that, through faith in him, we would have eternal life with you. Jesus is indeed “Immanuel,” and I believe Jesus is with me always. Amen.
Prayer Concern
Couples preparing for the birth of a child
Tomorrow’s Reading
