Choose to Believe
Choose for yourself this day whom you will serve. (Joshua 24:15)
I was moved to tears on finding this covenant in Rebecca’s journal, “I choose to believe. I choose to trust. I choose to love. I choose the everlasting life you purchased for me on the cross. I choose your plan. I choose the pure love of Jesus Christ.”
Experiencing God’s love being poured into her heart by the Holy Spirit, Rebecca believed that Jesus Christ was not only her Savior but also the Lord of her life. My prayers were answered when Rebecca chose to ask Jesus into her heart. I choose to believe that Rebecca was called home because her life and work on earth were complete. In my mother’s heart, it seems far too soon at 32, but I choose to believe it was God’s perfect time.

1 John 4:19 says, "We love because he first loved us."
We love Him because He first loved us and, His perfect love will cast all fear from your heart. Of all the people and things, you love on earth, it is your love for Jesus that will carry you through life.
God is calling you today to choose to give your heart to Jesus Christ, or if you are already following Jesus, is there a part of your life that you need to surrender to Him?
Passing the Baton:
Choose to believe and to trust God with your life.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, please forgive me, I’m sorry for all the wrong things I’ve done. I ask you to come into my heart and I choose to believe and to receive the everlasting life you purchased for me on the cross. Thank you for the love you have poured into my heart by your Holy Spirit. Please help me and strengthen my heart with your grace to believe, to surrender all to you and to trust you with my life. Amen.
