It is easier when people are already spending money

Instead of building His own synagogue, Jesus simply used the existing synagogues to spread His message. This was much easier than building a new synagogue and trying to get people to come to Him. He used the existing infrastructure where people already gathered.

In the same way, in terms of your business idea, if people are already spending money in a market, then it is easier for them to transfer that money to your business.

For example, I consulted as a web technology specialist for various companies and private organizations. These companies didn’t have a problem paying me for my services, because there was a need, and they were going to pay someone anyway for the service.

Alternatively, another business I started was a business where parents could easily notify their loved ones when their baby was born, using call-blast technology. It seemed like a cool service to me, and I used it when my daughter was born as did several other families who signed up for the service.

However, this type of technology was not something the average person was accustomed to spending money on, therefore not a lot of people adopted it.

In both cases, I put the same effort forward, but the web consulting was much easier to make money from, because people were already used to spending money in that way.

The second principle to thrive in entrepreneurship is to analyze the idea God has given and discover how you can place it in a marketplace where people are already spending money.
