Powerhouse 30 Day Devotional預覽
Have you finished strong?
Have you ever had a New Year’s resolution? I have. Recently, I decided that I was going to exercise three times a week by swimming at my local pool. I grew up swimming and I loved it, and recently I was convicted about it. Look, I wasn’t going to be the next Ian Thorpe, (arguably Australia’s greatest ever swimmer), but I did think, how hard could it be? Well, let’s just say it lasted all of two months. Turns out having someone to keep you accountable is far more important than many might realize. I was there just punching out laps all by myself and when the going got tough, I quit because no one was there to support me, encourage me, and even challenge me to keep going.
Here lies the challenge for so many Young Adults; in a world that is demanding us to try this, be more like that person and change the way we think about this certain topic, how do we stay firm on our Godly convictions through thick and thin and not give up or quit in life? I honestly believe that the answer is found in Jesus. When the things of this world become shaky and unstable (and they will), we have the ability to cling on to Jesus and His word. When the waves of life (peer pressure, family trouble, financial difficulty) seem to be surrounding us on every side, and it seems like the only option is to quit, we can keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and know that it’s Him who the wind and the waves obey. Cling to Jesus, look to Him as your guide and rely on Him all the days of your life.
Prayer: God, we thank You that we can rely on You. We thank You that in a world that is unstable, You’re unshakeable. Help us all to remember that in times of uncertainty, You’re certain, in times of chaos, You’re peace. Amen.
