Bring Them Back: Devotions From Time of Grace Ministry預覽
HOW DO I DO THIS? TALK THEIR LANGUAGE
Simple question: What's the difference between the church and a country club? Sarcastic answer: There isn't any. Country clubs thrive on being seen as exclusive. They are hard and expensive to get into, and they sure aren't for everybody.
Jesus' gift of salvation is for everybody, though, and he wants his church to be that way too. He wants his church to serve people, not vice versa. In all the church's blessed work of spiritual reclamation, it is Jesus' intent that the tellers adapt to the hearers, speaking their language, telling the great stories of divine rescue in terms that the hearers will understand and appreciate.
"Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. . . . I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings" (1 Corinthians 9:19,22,23).
Does your congregation try to speak the language of unchurched and lost people? Do you?
