Learn to Discern預覽

Did you know that we make approximately 35,000 decisions a day–227 of them about food alone? Most choices are small, like what to wear or how fast to walk. God has blessed us with common sense to handle these everyday decisions. Without it, we’d be paralysed by indecision.
But even in life’s big decisions, where we seek God’s guidance, common sense is crucial. Practical thinking, weighing pros and cons, and careful consideration are all part of discernment. In Scripture, common sense is often called wisdom, prudence, or understanding.
My child, don’t lose sight of common sense and discernment. Hang on to them – Proverbs 3:21
Wouldn’t it be nice if every big decision came with a clear note from heaven? Unfortunately, it often doesn’t work this way. God doesn’t want you to be a robot who just follows orders; He wants to be in a loving relationship with you where you choose to involve Him in every aspect of your life.
The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. Do not be like a senseless horse or mule that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control.” – Psalms 32:8-9
When we seek God, wisdom will find us.
Ask God today to fill you with wisdom and trust that He has given you common sense as one of the tools to help you discern His will!
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. – James 1:5
