If you are lost in the wilderness, try climbing a tree or rocky high point to get a better view. Moses climbed up Mount Nebo, which was over 800 m high. From there, he could see all the way into the Promised Land of Canaan.

Why do people die?

Moses was 120 years old when he died. He had led Israel out of Egypt and given them laws and instructions from God. When he died, it was a huge loss for Israel. For thirty days, God’s people cried and expressed their sadness. Death is not natural. It is like an enemy that has invaded our world. One day, as it says in Revelation 21:4, there will be no more crying because there will be no more dying. But in the meantime, it’s important to express our feelings, cry together, and share our memories as part of facing up to what’s happened. It’s not easy.
