Fear Is Not My Future | 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting預覽
The sword's purpose is to provide protection during an attack. If a soldier has yet to receive the proper training on how to handle a sword or if their sword is not sharp, its use is pointless. It leaves them weak and exposed in the event of an attack.
As believers, we need proper training on how to handle the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, in order to have maximum protection. Jesus Christ is the greatest example for us in this regard. In the Gospel of Matthew, it is written that after Jesus' baptism, "Jesus was led up into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil" (Matthew 4:1). As we continue reading, we understand that Jesus was tempted just as we are. Jesus used the Word of God as a weapon to answer Satan, leaving the devil defenseless and fleeing.
Hebrews 4:12 tells us that “the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword.” God’s Word pierces straight to the heart for correction, rebuking, teaching, and training; 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
The sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, is our weapon in spiritual battles. It strengthens us and gives us the confidence to confront evil in the world. The more time we spend in the Word, the sharper our sword becomes, and the more effective we will be in resisting the devil's schemes.
Spend some time reading, meditating, and praying over these passages. Psalm 119:11, 33-40, 99-105.
