4 Keys to Prioritizing God for the Solopreneur Parent預覽
Seek His Kingdom First and All Else Will Be Given
I don’t know what state you’re in as I’m meeting you today, whether you need confirmation, a game plan to get your life together, or some extra tips on time management, but I know you’re here with the right heart, a desire for more of God, and that’s all that matters.
Life as a parent is already challenging, and adding a business to the mix surely makes dull moments rare. You may be the breadwinner and have less responsibility in the household. You might be the parent, like me, who does most of the chores and wants their business to flourish, or you might have equally divided all tasks.
Whatever roles and responsibilities you have, this plan is for the entrepreneurial parent who desires to tap into the Father’s love more, despite all the other things going on. Wearing different hats throws a lot of time management challenges your way. Multiple things call for your attention, and we all know that we should be mindful of our time and energy, putting God first in the midst of it all, but yikes, is that hard at times.
The Bible verse “seek first His kingdom and all will be given,” (Matthew 6:33) is the foundation for this Bible plan. You can interpret this to mean you will lack what you need when you don’t seek His kingdom, but that’s not who God is. We have a loving and gracious Father who knows exactly what we need and doesn’t need us to do anything to provide it. The essence of this verse is that your main priority should always be God and His kingdom, regardless of what is happening. God knows when you are busy or have financial trouble, and all He’s saying is “I know, my child, but I still want you to be in a relationship with Me. Don’t worry, I have taken care of all the other things.”
God is in control. He always has been, but genuinely trusting that is easier said than done. I, too, worry about letting go of my business responsibilities, like when my maternity leave was about to begin for my second child. Will I be ok financially? Did I check off everything on my to-do list? Will I lose momentum? It turned out all right. Did I always seek His kingdom first? No. Yet, God still provided.
Seeking His kingdom is not a magic spell for provision. It’s a call from God to be with Him no matter what, and I want to answer that call because I love God. I want to spend time with Him. I want to worry less and surrender my everything to Him. Therefore, from the bottom of my heart, I desire to seek His kingdom during every season in life.
Are you with me? How to put the kingdom first while running a household and a business is something that we’ll look into in the upcoming days. Excited for it? I am!
Blessings,
