KEY 1: First things first!
Whenever you wake up, whether in the night or in the morning, decide to speak to God first. No matter what woke you – whether it was a worry, a nightmare, sudden loud noise – before you do anything PAUSE your mind right there and then! Take a simple but profound action: in your heart, start speaking to God about your worry, nightmare or anxiety. Turn it into conversation with the Lord.
Ask for His peace that surpasses all understanding to fill your heart and mind. Pray this slowly, again and again until after a few minutes, you feel the peace of the Lord settling in your heart.
Then, just before you finally get out of bed, take a few seconds more to give Him thanks for knowing Him, and ask for His grace and mercy to fill your life in this new day.
