How To Teach Like Jesus預覽
"Capturing the Imagination"
Jesus was a master teacher, and nothing demonstrates that more than his use of parables. By using a simple story, Jesus was able to communicate profound moral and spiritual lessons.
He was able to use word pictures in ways that could inform even the most uneducated seeker.
A lot of spiritual truth is abstract, and any attempt to teach it can be difficult and time-consuming. Jesus was able to take concrete ideas and—by equating them to objects or practices that everyone understood—make them accessible to anyone.
In Luke 6:46–49, Jesus is explaining how important it is to put his words into practice by using an image of a man building his home. With this simple picture, Jesus is able to communicate to anyone how his words are a foundation that one can trust to stabilize their life in life’s most challenging moments.
Einstein once said, “If I can’t picture it, I can’t understand it.” Jesus’s teaching style demonstrated the importance of making abstract truth accessible through the use of metaphor. Once people can associate an abstract concept with something they already comprehend, they can begin to understand it.
