Walking by Faith

How many of us have found ourselves tackling thoughts of doubt and questions of faith?

Is there really a God?

What do I even believe in?

Is all this heaven stuff really real?

No matter what our belief system is—whether we’re following Jesus or living out the Christian faith, grappling with what we believe, or just totally unsure if there’s a God out there at all—we’ve likely tossed similar questions around at one time or another. Even if we’ve never said them out loud, we’ve wondered about them quietly.

Here’s the good news: It’s natural to ask questions about the things we cannot see. It’s natural to wonder about what’s beyond our level of sight and understanding. And here’s the better news: God isn’t afraid of those questions. He isn’t disappointed in our doubts. He isn’t scared of our curiosity. He isn’t scared of the things we wonder about who He is and all He’s promised. In fact, that’s exactly where God meets us: right there in the middle of what we’re wondering about.

We’re not going to find all our answers here on Earth. We’re not going to see it all clearly in the here and now. But, because God meets us where we are, we don’t have to walk forward blindly with the weight of our questions on our backs.

Instead, we can walk by faith.

Faith that God is who He says He is.
Faith that God will deliver on all He’s promised.
Faith that the heaven we’ve been told about is waiting for those of us who believe.
Faith that allows us to sit with our questions and doubts without being defeated by them.

Faith that will guide us forward until we can see it all clearly in the presence of the Lord.

A Prayer

Lord, I come to You with my questions, my doubts, my curiosity about You and the promises You’ve made. I come to You with these things because I know You will meet me in the middle of them. I know You will guide me forward, revealing what You can, and helping me walk in faith until the rest is revealed in eternity. Please strengthen my faith step-by-step so I can walk in it day by day.
