Strong as a Mother預覽
Luke 1:45 And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.
A prayer today that your belief will be rekindled. To doubt is a completely human experience. The Bible is filled with leaders who doubted what they heard God speak to them. Think about Eve reaching for that infamous fruit in Genesis 3, Sarah laughing in a tent in Genesis 18, or Mary and Martha accusing Jesus of being late in John 11. Where in your life is doubt louder than the voice of God? The good news is that, just like these women, even when we doubt, God is merciful.
But how much better to take a cue from Mary and believe. One of the definitions for the word believe is used here as “total trust.” Mary had total trust that God would fulfill His plan. If I am honest with myself and with you, doubt starts creeping into my life when my trust shifts from God to self. My trust that I can see this plan through is, well, doubtful. Belief comes when I trust and believe in God’s faithfulness. May the strength of belief fill your heart today.
Let’s Pray
Good God, the power to believe comes from You. I lay every doubt and worry at Your feet. Forgive me for every time that I have tried to take Your plans into my hands. Teach me to trust in You Jesus. Fill me with belief today. Amen.
