Why Not Right Now?: A 5-Day Devotional by Jesus Culture預覽
"REVIVAL IN OUR DAY"
Written by Banning Liebscher
The heart behind the album “Why Not Right Now?” is the heart that has driven Jesus Culture since we began. Our burning desire is to see God bring revival in our day.
We define revival as:
- a move of the Holy Spirit marked by the presence and power of God
- that awakens the church to a greater passion for intimacy with Jesus, a greater desire for holiness, and a greater commitment to the cause of Christ in the earth,
- and results in culture being transformed and the lost being saved.
I’ve personally been captivated by the history of revival since I was a teenager. My bookshelves are filled with accounts of the Welsh Revival, the Hebrides Revival, the Azusa Street Revival, and many more. To this day, these testimonies provoke my hunger to see God move again in the present as He has in the past.
Since the Day of Pentecost, God’s answer to a lost and godless culture is a church awake and alive. Revival always begins, as it did on that day, with a group of people who are willing to make themselves fully available to the Spirit of God in worship and prayer. When we position ourselves in hunger and humility and wait on Him, He responds with an outpouring of His Spirit that overflows with power and leads us into deeper intimacy with Him. It is this rekindling of our first love for Jesus that drives us to exalt His name in the earth.
“Why Not Right Now?” is both a question we ask ourselves and ask the Lord. As we go through our day and experience hunger and thirst for His presence, we don’t ignore it. Right now is the time to posture our hearts in worship and adoration and cry out for a fresh encounter with His love and resurrection life. And right now is when we need Him to come again as He has come before, not only to encounter us as individuals but to draw a lost generation to Him through those who lift Him up.

Join Chris Quilala, Bryan & Katie Torwalt, Chris McClarney, Banning Liebscher, and Derek Johnson as they share the meanings and verses behind the songs. If we've seen God do it before, then why not right now?
