For Single Christians預覽
Day 2 Honorable or Horrible (pt2)
God does not make empty vows. His vow to every believer is never to fail or abandon them. This promise perhaps beckons the question: Has God failed single believers being that He is the Author of the “companion/helpmeet” conversation?
God forbid. Let God be true, and every emotion and thought of desperation and depression stemming from singleness be a liar. God did not play “favorites” because we feel He might have played matchmaker for some and not others.
Jesus, after his discourse with His disciples on marriage and divorce, while providing clarity of Moses’ seeming endorsement of divorce, answered a rather complex statement concerning abstinence from marriage and embracing singleness.
In His dialogue, Jesus elevates being a eunuch (single). In it, He speaks to three kinds of singleness while stating the glue that holds all of these together: “Only those whom God helps.” (Matthew 19:11 NLT)
A power-packed statement in all of the Bible regarding relationship status. A mic drop moment, if you will. Anyone God helps should feel honored! Not horrible.
God did not leave you climbing the proverbial “single” mountain alone. Furthermore, He is not only doing the climb with you; He’s standing atop the hill anticipating your arrival so that He might say to you, “Well done, my good and faithful servant!”
