Self-Motivation
How do you keep yourself motivated and moving forward?
No matter how mentally strong a person may seem, there will be tough days when your spiritual cup feels empty. Leading often means continuously pouring your own time and energy into others, which can get tiring if you fail to look upward for guidance and replenishment.
In 1 Corinthians 15:58, we are reminded that we should remain strong, immovable, and enthusiastic, for nothing we do for the Lord is useless. No small deed goes unseen in God’s eyes. As you find yourself struggling to summon the strength to make it from day to day, always turn to the Lord. Whether you prefer prayer, music, reading Scripture, or whatever else it may be, the love of God is more than enough to replenish our souls. When you find yourself unable to lead, ask Him to give you strength.
At the end of the day, you should remind yourself of your individual mission, as well as the most important mission Jesus gave us. Mark chapter 20 reminds us that we are all working toward a greater plan, which is to make disciples of all nations. Never let the evils of this world distract you from your higher calling.
Challenge: A leader will find motivation with help from the Lord. Write out your individual mission statement and reflect on the day-to-day steps you must take to complete this mission.
