Wholehearted預覽
It is possible to live wholeheartedly. Of course, possible doesn’t mean easy – we have so much vying and competing for our attention and our affection. We’re constantly tempted to give portions of our hearts away. And yet, God told His people if they looked for Him with their whole hearts, they would find Him.
In Jeremiah 29, Israel wasn’t in the greatest place. They had just been cast away into exile. Jeremiah – a prophet who heard from God – sent a letter to the exiles to encourage them. One of the promises God made was that if they searched for Him with their whole hearts, they would find Him. It might sound weird to us – they had to search for God? Was God hiding from them? Did they have to try and find Him?
A few verses later, God made another astounding statement to the same exiles: “I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord. They will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with all their heart.”
God told His people to search for Him, and when they searched for Him with their whole hearts, He in turn gave them a new heart.
When we give God our hearts, He in turn gives us a new heart. Jesus makes us new creations – but first, we have to give Him ourselves.
You can be as close to Jesus as you want. Seek Him earnestly with your whole heart. When you look for God with all of your heart, you will find Him. You will find Jesus to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life. You will find purpose. You will find hope. You will find peace, joy, and unconditional love.
God’s promises always remain true: “You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”
It is possible to live wholeheartedly. Give God your heart, and He’ll give you a brand new heart.
How can you choose to seek God with your whole heart today?
