The Daily Grind of the Season預覽
Weakness = Strength
When we begin working out, pain is weakness leaving the body. When you open the Bible and you're confused, that's spiritual weakness leaving your body. Everything is going great until I begin running outside in the 90 degree heat. That’s when my body starts talking to my brain. It doesn't matter how deep my commitment is, as I start to run my body will say, my hamstrings are tight today. My feet are sore. My knee, I didn’t even know. I’m feeling a little bloated. I don’t think I got enough sleep last night. Ever been there?
I never negotiate with my time in the word or prayer. Word and prayer, I’m not negotiating. It’s not built on how I feel. It’s built on my hunger to grow. I want to grow, that’s the end goal.
Acts 2:42 says this. “They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and prayer."
Devoted to prayer. During a difficult game or stretch, where do you find God? Sometimes I find him right where I left him when things were going great and I became prideful and tempted to do things on my own. That’s when I know it’s time to devote time to prayer.
Where do you go during the game or life when things get hard or a little crazy?
關於此計劃
Being a Christian can be similar to being a sports official. Striving for perfection but coming up short. Trust the system. Trust the process. Trust your gut, trust your training. Sound familiar? How many of us hear that or self-talk those reminders during our game. All of these are great reminders and processes to becoming a successful official. But we need to remember, it’s the Holy Spirit we should be listening to in those locker rooms, car rides, dinners and hotel rooms.
