Righteous Judgment: A Study in Obadiah預覽
What does it say?
Obadiah prophesies concerning the coming Kingdom of God.
What does it mean?
The Day of the Lord will usher in a new era for God's people. No longer will they be subject to the pressures of other kingdoms; rather, those kingdoms will all be subject to the kingdom at Mount Zion. Most importantly, "the kingdom shall be the LORD's," a manifestation of God's supreme rule over all things.
How should I respond?
One day, God will establish His rule and reign over all the earth. One day, all wrongs will be righted, all that is dark will be subject to the light of His judgment, and all of God's people will know Him purely and forever. As we wait for the day when "the kingdom will be the LORD's," we commit ourselves to show and share the gospel in our context. We live out the kingdom now by proclaiming a similar message to Obadiah's: judgment is coming, but God's people, saved and redeemed by His grace, will rule with Him in the kingdom to come.
關於此計劃
Obadiah presents prophetic truth regarding the destruction of Edom, a prideful nation descended from Esau. Edom’s pride and animosity towards Israel ultimately resulted in a violent war. Obadiah ends his book declaring, “the kingdom shall be the LORD’s,” pointing toward God’s plan to defeat all His enemies and establish His rule and reign forever.
