The Humility of Jesus預覽
He is Gentle to Take Your Burdens
The One who asks for our devotion doesn’t come to us harshly or demanding. Instead, our God comes with an invitation: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me. For I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light” (Matt. 11:28–30, MEV). I hope you really hear those words—our God is “lowly in heart.” The King who rode into Jerusalem on a donkey can relate to you. He wants to take your burdens and carry them with you. When we see Yeshua the way He truly is, we cannot help but love Him! Allow your soul to be touched by this reality: the eternal God of the universe comes in a way where He has made Himself low enough for us to touch Him. The God who should be beyond our reach makes Himself available and sensitive to us so that we can actually touch Him.
The question is, What will we do with this humble King? Will we humble ourselves too? Will we disconnect from everything that causes His heart to break?
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and self-control; against such there is no law. —Galatians 5:22-23, MEV
With all humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another in love, be eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. —Ephesians 4:2-3, MEV
Let’s close this devotional by praying this simple prayer:
Jesus, I love You. Thank You that I don’t have to be afraid of You. Thank You that You know me, feel me, and don’t condemn me. Thank You for receiving me. Help me to share my whole life with You. Teach me how to let You carry my burdens. Help me to walk as You do, in gentleness and humility.
