Principles
The Word of God should be in the mind so that our minds are renewed (Romans 12:1-2). Generally, our minds are saturated with the worldly wisdom as taught by modern culture, media, peers, traditions, and other belief systems. This worldly wisdom has to be ‘unlearned,’ and Godly wisdom from the Scripture has to be filled in the mind.
It should not be a dry intellectual exercise, but passionate pursuit. Hence, it is written the words should be fixed in the hearts also. That is not enough. It has to be communicated to the future generation which begins by teaching our own children.
Practice
Reading the Word of God daily should be a habit of every Christian. The truths learnt in the Scripture should be fixed in our minds and hearts displacing worldly wisdom. The Scripture should become our Moral reference point; basis for our decisions; foundation for our life.
