Healing on the Inside and Out預覽
Healing For All, No Exceptions
When we study the gospels according to Matthew, Mark and Luke, there was a pattern to Jesus’ healing ministry.
- He healed all who came to Him with no exceptions
- He healed those in his presence even if they just lay on a mat in his vicinity
- He healed those who cried out in desperation without fear of ridicule or being shamed publicly
This shows us that today we can just come to Him. We can sit in His presence and we can cry out to Him in our moments of deep pain and despair.
We tend to usually call that friend, loved one, or a medical professional before we call on God, almost like a last-ditch effort. Our lives depend on the diagnosis that the internet gives us rather than the report that God wants to give us.
Picture the kind of peace we could have if we first dropped on our knees in the presence of God before we drop in that frantic text or call for advice.
No matter the degree of complexity of our ailments His all-encompassing presence is sufficient to protect and preserve us. What if my greatest desire was for His presence in my life?
What if we were to draw closer and closer to Jesus every day so that we could feel his touch?
The psalmist, many times, would write how he cried out to God in desperation. What if we drop the facade of having it all together and get undignified before God? He can handle our ugly tears, our brokenness, and our frustration.
Blind Bartimaeus shouted above the noise of the crowds, ignoring the naysayers, getting Jesus’ attention.
What if we called out to Jesus today in desperation and asked Him for healing?
He waits to be invited into our struggle so that he can bear what we cannot so that he can heal what we cannot.
