How Do You Find the Truth?預覽
Where will you find the Truth?
Why is it that the thing you are looking for is always in the last place you look?
You’ve misplaced your keys, wallet, or something else of value to you and you can’t find it. But then in the very last place you look…there it is! Why is that?
You could say, “Well, of course it’s in the last place you look because when you find it, you stop looking!” And that is true. But there is a deeper insight that we can gain from our misplacement of objects and why we stop looking when we find them, especially when it comes to the faith we hold in Jesus Christ.
First, you will only seek something if it is valuable. Your keys are valuable because they give you access to your car, house, garage, office, and so on. Your wallet is valuable because it holds your personal details, licenses, credit or debit cards, and money.
That’s why you search diligently when you lose them.
But like those times when you misplace your keys or wallet, where will you find the truth?
The truth that comes from God is also highly valuable. Solomon explained that the insight and wisdom that comes through God’s truth is to be prized above gold and fine silver (see Proverbs 3:13-18).
You must search for truth just as diligently as you hunt for those missing keys and wallet! Seek the truth with all of your heart, mind, spirit, and soul.
And to make it easy, the scripture tells us clearly where we will find the truth. Jesus.
The truth that leads to life that is more valuable than gold or silver comes through Jesus Christ.
For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (John 1:17)
And;
You did not so learn Christ! -- assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus. (Ephesians 4:20-21)
This is where you will find the truth, through prayer and the study of Jesus’ words provided to us in the Bible.
Call to action:
Pray to the Lord seeking His truth, asking Him to show you the right path. Many things are spoken in the name of Jesus, but not all of them are the truth. If you are serious about finding the truth, look for it because God has promised that those who seek, will find.
