We Were Sexual Before We Were Sinful預覽
Fall
Now we enter a famous, disheartening scene apart from the rest of Scripture: The Fall. When pride and deception scheme to realize the first of humanity’s sin, we disobey God’s command as explained in Genesis 3:6-7, as Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden fruit. Thus, sin thrust the created into a desperate need for reconciliation with their Creator.
To use a phrase from C.S. Lewis, at this moment in time, we have become “bent.” Our intended design has been broken, and now there is a need for an “unbending.” Sexual desire is not sinful; it was all a part of the plan and designed to function in a specific, healthy context. The delineation from that design is the exact consequence of the Fall.
Because of the Fall, addiction, shame, and evil threaten our ability to maintain a healthy relationship with God. Especially when it comes to our sexuality. Sex, this beautiful gift given to us, is now subject to be distorted by sin. And in some ways, all of us have felt the ripple effects of sexual sin.
Do you recognize this need for reconciliation?
Reflect on a time where you have felt distant from the Creator; what brought you closer?

You have been written into a wonderful story. God’s story is one that includes Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration. However, our conversations surrounding sex often focus on the fall - in reality, we were sexual before we were sinful! In this plan, we'll look at what scripture says about God's creation and design for sex.
