Is God Calling Me Into Full-Time Ministry? - 7 Questions to Consider預覽
Day 1: As I’ve prayed about this, what is God saying to me?
“Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.” — Psalm 143:8
“Prayer . . . has it come to that?” Too often we see prayer as a last resort. Yet it needs to top the list! You’ve heard it said that “God has a wonderful plan for your life,” and it’s true; He does! Let’s not get ahead of Him, though. When it comes to considering whether God is calling you into full-time ministry, the Holy Spirit is ready and willing to guide you: “God’s Spirit beckons. There are things to do and places to go!” (Romans 8:14, MSG).
Tell the Holy Spirit about your heart’s desire in this area and seek His guidance. Be prepared for Him to ask you questions as well, such as: What have I told you in My Word, the Bible? Are you willing to go wherever I lead you? Which path will best help you grow in trusting Me? Consider how the Holy Spirit closed the door for the apostle Paul to minister in the province of Asia yet called him to Macedonia (Acts 16:6-10). Ask Him for such clear direction!
Today’s Prayer:
Father, thank You for the Holy Spirit, who lives within me and guides me along the right and best path for my life. Like the apostle Paul, I want to be used of You to make a difference for eternity’s sake. I don’t want to get ahead of You, but I also don’t want to lag behind. Holy Spirit, ask me anything, give me the courage to respond, and use this Bible reading plan to help me discern whether I should stay where I am or pursue full-time ministry.
