God knows your name
We are living in a day where people will try to tell you who you are. If you aren’t careful, what people call you, you will become. People will sometimes give you a nickname, or even worse, call you out of your name.
In different cultures, naming ceremonies are huge. The timing of these ceremonies can vary from several days after birth to months or even years.
There are multiple times in the Bible where God changed a person’s name. The reason behind the name change was that God wanted to establish a new identity for that person.
God changed Abram to Abraham, and Jacob to Israel,
One of my favorites examples is when God changed Sarai’s name to Sarah.
When God changed Sarai’s name to Sarah, she was already a princess but then she became a princess to many! Sarah was called a “princess” to nations, even though she had doubts, disappointments, setbacks, uncertainty, and lost faith at times. God promises are true, and there were many promises just for Sarah.
You may not want to change your legal name in the natural world. But God can change your name in the supernatural. Our identity is found in Christ and the Word of God. When we know our identity in Christ, God is able to mold us into who he has called us to be. We receive salvation, God can cultivate your gifts, and give you direction and wisdom.
Knowing our identity in Christ is a priceless gift from God.
When you give your life to Christ, you automatically receive a new name. God calls you his daughter or son. That is the BEST NAME ever.
Don’t allow just anyone to speak into your life or tell you who you are. Just like with Eve, Satan came with a “thought” that made her question who she was. When you know God, you know who you are! Know that you are healed, favored, forgiven, and restored. Know that you are the daughter or son of a king.
Maybe you have been in a lowly place for way too long. Feeling down and out has become familiar to you. I’m here to tell you today that season is over. You are already looking better, sounding better, and becoming better. The enemy couldn’t stop you. God chose you for such a time as this. God is shifting you to a land of milk and honey. Get ready for your harvest. God knows your name.
Even when you go through a season of great loss, sickness, disappointment, bitterness, depression, adversity, trials, and tribulations, God can change your identity and name in a second. Because you are connected to God, you are royalty. God is calling you to bring light to dead places. If you can trust God, allow him to take the leading role in your life; God will do something new and extraordinary. New beginnings are happening. New territory, new opportunities, new relationships, new strategies, new connections, and new anointing. Speak life over yourself.
Declare and decree that God knows my name!
