Overflow In The Hard Paths 預覽
Ultimate Purpose Of Living In The Overflow
You may wonder why it’s important for us, as followers of Christ, to live in a state of overflow. Does it really matter if we lived in the overflow or not? Why bother trying to stay afloat when life is threatening to drag us under? Why should we hold onto hope when the ground feels like it’s shifting beneath us because of our circumstances ?
It goes to show that living in the overflow is a matter of choice and it is crucial for us to live in the overflow because
1. It helps us to proclaim Christ through every season of our life Joseph was quick to acknowledge that it was God who orchestrated and joined all the dots in his life. He didn’t take credit for anything but consistently gave God the glory for what he had come through. The peace that you have, the joy that you exhibit, the love that you show people and the servant leadership you provide, even in the midst of the storms of life, will speak loud and clear of who Jesus is to you. Like someone once said, our lives are sometimes the only Bible someone may read- so live well.
2. It helps us to fulfill God’s plans and fulfill the purposes of our lives If it was not for Joseph and his leadership in Egypt Jacob’s family line would not have survived the famine and God’s chosen people would have been wiped out. God’s sovereign plan for Joseph’s life was to save his father’s family from extinction and to ensure that the promise he made to Abraham, concerning his descendants in Genesis 17, was fulfilled. If you are wondering what your purpose is on earth at this point of time it may be encouraging to remember that your purpose will be revealed on the other side of this obstacle you could be facing. No one ever said it was easy to live a purpose filled and fruitful life. Like the Psalmist wrote in Psalm 65 we will find abundance even in the hard pathways. An abundance of purpose in every season , an abundance of grace for the dark nights of the soul and an abundance of his presence throughout the journey of our lives.
3. It helps others find their healing and restoration through our lives Jacob and his whole family found deliverance from a life threatening famine when they moved to Goshen, Egypt and settled down there. Joseph’s unconditional forgiveness and kindness towards his brothers restored this family and through their family line King David and ultimately Jesus, are born. Today, what you are struggling with or enduring could one day help someone else on their journey. It could also be God using you to fulfill his redemptive plans for some part of humanity that is desperate for a touch of heaven. You can strengthen yourself in the knowledge that you are part of a bigger plan of which God is the master architect.
