Pearls of Prayer for Parents預覽
Pearls of Prophecy
Let’s face it, we dream for our children and what they will become. It’s the nurturing part in us that wants a better life for them over what we have. Praying prophetically brings a destiny into their lives in ways that invite God to develop their gifts and talents. Prayers of prophecy provide the faith needed for God to impart hope upon them.
Ask God for a vision for your children, even if you don’t have them yet. The great plans of God don’t always result in a large bank account or a prominent position, although God can do anything with those surrendered to Him. With our physical eyes, we see them as they are, but with spiritual eyes, we can see their potential like God sees.
Along with the Holy Spirit, we guide our children to their own sweet spot where their God-given gifts and passions overlap. There’s something powerful about naming our children in prayer, asking God to impart wisdom on them to grow in stature and favor with both God and man.
Interpreting those plans means we have many ideas regarding our children’s destinies. Often we approach Jeremiah 29:11 as a security blanket: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” But that’s not at all what God was promising to the Israelite nation (in context) of this Scripture, and it’s not what he’s promising us either. The meaning of the verse is not that we would escape the bad stuff, but rather learn how to thrive in the midst of it.
Prayer: Lord, we need your guidance in and through life. We also need help in growing our families and teaching them wisdom that can only be found in your Word. Empower us to focus on the destiny ahead, knowing you are already there and in control. We ask You to build up (child’s name’s) potential each day. Give us the grace needed to guide our families to our ultimate destiny. Amen.
