Day 9 - The Discipline of Worship

Worship implies the increase of God and the decrease of my ego.

There are two kingdoms. Both with its own God. And then there’s us, people, beings created to worship.

Each and every one of us, whether we want it or not, whether we admit it or not, worship something or someone. If we don’t worship God, The Lord of the Kingdom of Light, we will worship Satan, the lord of the kingdom of darkness.

If for all the other spiritual disciplines we have to watch to put them into practice, when it comes to worship we have to watch and direct it. We practice worship. The question is “Who do we bring it to?”

God created us for His glory. He wants our worship just for Himself. If the thought that God is selfish crosses your mind, I want to tell you that He loves you so much, that He wants what is good for you. When we worship Him, we benefit from it. We are helped by it, not Him.

Authentic worship is the (supra)natural reaction that takes place when a human being meets with God!

Worship is wonder and meditation!

The motivation of worship has to have its roots in who He is and not what He offers.

An unselfish relationship brings authentic worship. The rest, it’s just hypocrisy and interest.

No matter the situation you find yourself in, choose to worship Him! You don’t have to stop just because you don’t feel like doing it or because you cannot see the results. Be quiet before Him, cry before Him, stay in His presence. Let your heart be the one shouting!

In worship, feeling good isn't what's important, but whether God is pleased is.

If you don’t want to live a life of worship, why would you want to spend an eternity worshiping Him?
