Reflections On The Gospel Of John

FAITH THAT MOVES Jesus had been betrayed and given over to the chief priests for thirty pieces of silver; the crucifixion occurred next with Him accomplishing everything His Father sent Him to do as He took upon Himself the very sins of every person born and/or those who would ever be born into the world. His body was then laid in a borrowed tomb, one that had never been used before with a huge stone covering the entrance.

On the first day of the week (Sunday) following Jesus’ crucifixion and burial, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb to complete a specific task; she traveled to the tomb of her Lord with oils and spices to anoint and properly care for the body of Jesus.

Yet there was an obstacle that would surely prevent this woman from accomplishing her mission; that obstacle of course being the huge stone covering the entrance to the tomb, a stone that undoubtedly took several men to put in place.

But this did not discourage Mary Magdalene from doing what she felt led to do, which was to “GO” fully expecting to accomplish her task. This woman did not go to the tomb with a hammer, chisel, or any other tool to force her way in, she simply went forward believing the obstacle that stood between here and her Lord would be moved out of the way.

What a great example and true testament to faith in action; believing in advance that the obstacle which hindered or impeded access to the blessing would be completely moved out of the way beforehand.

As believers in Christ we must have similar faith; we must have faith that allows us to believe that any obstacle we face has no other choice but to move out of our way. This is the type of faith that prompts us to speak to the mountain of problems in our lives and cause them to move (MRK.11.23).

Therefore, whether you have to go around it, go over it, or go through it; speak to the mountains and obstacles in your life today in faith, then EXPECT them to move. It is then that you too will be able to clearly see the Lord!
