Grand Plans - Small Steps預覽
Start small
One of the most common obstacles to achieving our grand plans is the belief that we lack what’s required to get started in the direction of our destiny.
When I have more time …
When I have more money …
When I finish my degree …
When I have more social connections …
When I do Bible College …
This type of thinking becomes on obstacle to progress because we will never possess great things if we’re not prepared to start small.
Perhaps this is why the Bible encourages us in Zechariah 4:10, “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.”
If you’ve ever felt like you don’t really have enough to get started, you’re in good company. Moses also started out this way. Called to liberate Israel from under the tyranny and might of Pharaoh, all that Moses had at his disposal was a stick!
What Moses had was so small, it was laughable to think he could ever make a difference!
But if we track the story of Exodus, using just the stick in his hand, God caused Moses able to confront the sorcerers of Pharaoh’s court, work ten plagues, part the Red Sea, bring water from a dry rock and lead Israel to victory over their enemies.
Before God makes anything big, He looks for people who are willing to smart small.
Refuse to make the mistake of putting your grand plan on the backburner until you have more resources at your disposal; God rejoices to see the work begin!
Today, instead of thinking about what you don’t have why not take 10 minutes to take an inventory of what you do have? Proverbs 15:6 encourages us that ‘In the house of the righteous there is much treasure.’ Right now, you have more than you realise! You certainly have enough to make a start.
Like Moses, as you exercise faith and diligence with what you have today, you’ll find God opens greater resource and opportunity to you in the future.
