Created To Believe預覽
When we make the choice to believe God He gives us a new heart and new mind. We have explored this glorious truth together. Believing in Jesus Christ initiates an internal supernatural transformation. As glorious as a new heart is in the life of the believer, God has an even higher purpose in regeneration. Being born again is glorious indeed. Yet, it is just the starting point for heaven’s ultimate purpose.
Our new heart has glorious capacity now that it has been made alive to the purposes of God. In the glory of new birth, our heart is cleaned out. All the old tenants are given eviction notices so that Jesus can take up residence! Paul describes this process in Colossians 1:27 ESV: “To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Did you catch that? Christ is in you. If this is really true—that the Son of the living God resides inside of believers—then where can we find Him? In our renewed heart! Jesus lives inside of us.
The church of Jesus Christ globally is being reminded of the necessity of God’s glory being revealed again in our generation. We must have the manifest presence of God moving in our midst. His weighty presence will accomplish more than we can ever hope to with our limited abilities and resources. One moment in His presence still sets captives free. His glory still brings healing to the sick and oppressed.
So what is the secret to experiencing His glory in our midst in this generation? Simply this: God must have our heart—wholly and unreservedly. The glory of God in the person of Christ lives inside the believer’s heart through faith. His glory is already deposited in His people. Our challenge then is to let it out by giving God full access to our heart.
Many believers have reserve areas of their hearts that are off limits to Jesus and His purposes. This touches on the idea of lordship again, which we have already examined. It’s a life of percentages: partial access to God and partial control for us. Living this kind of life is one of compromise impeding the flow of God’s glory in and through us.
This is an hour for wholehearted surrender by believing. The world needs the deposit of glory stored in our heart. Will Jesus have full access to these deepest recesses in our hearts?
Think big—believe!
