Prayer Reset by Bob Sorge預覽
Day 5: CLEANSE
Reminder: Yesterday we resolved to live a life of repentance. We invited the gaze of Jesus to search every part of our heart. Say it again to Him, “Know me, Lord.”
After repentance comes cleansing. One way believers are cleansed is by what Scripture calls the sprinkling of the blood of Christ (Hebrews 12:24; 1 Peter 1:2 ). Let me explain what the Bible means by that.
The idea of sprinkling comes from the Old Testament. The high priest would dip his fingers and sprinkle the blood of the sacrifice on the mercy seat. Now, Jesus sprinkles and washes us with His own blood which He shed on Calvary (Revelation 1:5).
Jesus’ blood is the most powerful detergent in the universe. It’s the only thing that cleanses our conscience.
Our conscience accuses us of sin. Christ’s blood washes our conscience so thoroughly that we actually feel clean. To feel clean before God is the best feeling in the world!
Satan also accuses us of sin, but the blood of Jesus silences him. Revelation 12:10-11 says we overcome the accuser by the blood of the Lamb. When we’re covered by the blood of Christ, the accuser is muzzled. The blood shuts him up.
You don’t have to limit yourself to taking only one shower in your lifetime. Similarly, you don’t have to get sprinkled with His blood only once in your life. You can get cleansed by Christ’s blood as frequently as you get defiled in the world. For most of us, that’s every day.
Stop for a minute. Resolve to get cleansed by the blood of Christ every day. Live clean and free from accusation.
PRAY.
- Express your confidence in the blood of Jesus.
- Give thanks to God for this fabulous washing.
- Rejoice in how clean you are right now!
- Ask God to remind you every day to get cleansed spiritually.
- Thank Him for making a way, through the cross, to live in His presence all day, every day.
