Dinner With Jesus預覽
Make Disciples Over Dinner
How many deep discussions have you had that started over a meal?
After His resurrection, Jesus appeared to two of His followers on the road to Emmaus. With his identity cloaked by God, he talked with them about all that had happened and explained the significance through the Scriptures: “Then Jesus took them through the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining from all the Scriptures the things concerning himself” (Luke 24:27, NLT).
They couldn’t get enough of what He was saying and begged Him to continue at dinner. As soon as He gave thanks for the bread and broke it, as He had at the last supper (Luke 22:19), their eyes were opened. They were dining with the risen Savior! Not only that, but they had been taught to understand the Scriptures.
Meals are one of the best ways to get to know people. They spark conversation that’s so much more natural and honest. That’s why food and Bible study seem to go hand in hand. The food is the draw, but the Word satisfies the soul’s hunger. It’s the perfect evangelism opportunity and the ideal setting to go deeper in your understanding of Jesus.
- When was the last time you craved Scripture like you crave a good meal?
- Could you open your home for a Bible study or a church fellowship?
- What kinds of questions would help people open up about spiritual things?
關於此計劃
Jesus often used meals to engage with people and teach important lessons. And he continues to call us to his table to dine, feasting on who he is and learning more about him through the Word. His example provides an opportunity to invite friends, outcasts, and even enemies to know God’s story of love and salvation—whether you’re a host or a guest.
