Ready Set Go! How To Run This Race Called Life預覽
If you want Gold, leave the Past where it is.
Many (many) years ago, I ran track in high school and did really well at the 400 m and 800 m relay. Crossing the finish line and coming in first place felt good at my track meets. But in each race I had to learn how not to look back and see who was gaining on me. Looking back inevitably would slow me down, and I would end up losing that race.
It’s been well over 2000 years since GOD turned anyone into salt for looking back (read Genesis, Chapter 19) but looking back in life today and living in the past slows us down still. We miss out on our present, and we sabotage our future when we drown in past difficulties, hurts and pains. Our focus must be on Jesus. When we look to Him, he heals our past and gives us a hope and a future.
GOD says He set eternity in the hearts of man. It’s what we live for. Yes, he promised an abundant life here on earth but we live for eternity! And we live to bring as much of His Kingdom here on earth.
Our race isn’t really about us. It’s about those not running anymore. It’s about those unaware that there is a race. We live to bring the good news of Jesus. We live to care for orphans and widows and to bring freedom to those in captivity. We live to comfort those who mourn. We live to bring justice and liberty to mankind, in His name.
We aren’t racing against each other. We’re racing against time. With each new year, we make new goals or refurbish old ones.
What if this year we didn’t set resolutions? What if we simply said “YES” to GOD and let Him lead us. There is no greater adventure than living life His way. It’s actually amazing! And since time flies whether you’re having fun or not, you might as well have fun…
Okay….READY. SET. GO!
關於此計劃
How many of us have said this year will be different? My prayer is that it really will be. God designed us with a specific purpose. And the life He's given us is meant to be lived pursuing that purpose. Not looking back or standing stagnant, but relentlessly going after Him with passion and expectation. My prayer is that this devotional aids you in that pursuit. Ok, Ready, Set GO!
