Shane & Shane - Bring Your Nothing预览
Bring Your Nothing
“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare.”
Isaiah 55:1-2
“Bring Your Nothing” is the title track of our new record. It's really just another way to say “the Gospel of Grace.” In fact, If I could just title everything “The Gospel of Grace,” that would be easier! We will forever be trying to find new ways to say the same thing...grace.
Here’s the deal.
I bring NOTHING. (“and you who have no money...”)
He gives EVERYTHING. (“...come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost...and you will delight in the RICHEST OF FARE – ‘aka JESUS’.”)
I actually do bring something to the table. All that I bring is the very thing that put Him on the cross! SIN. JUNK. Maybe the next record will be titled, “Bring Your Junk.”
I bring my junk; He gives me His righteousness. (“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Cor 5:21)
This is not only what we “get” to bring, it is what we are REQUIRED to bring. Unless we see our sin and desperate need for a Savior, we are doomed to wallow around in our own self-righteousness.
So BRING IT! Your sin. Junk. Fear. Unbelief. Sickness. Loneliness. Addiction. Pride.
Trade it in for the RICHEST OF FOODS!
