Sacred Moments With Christ预览
Treasure is valuable, is it not?
My most cherished possession is my child, obviously. I’m never letting him go!
But I also have these beautiful blue crystal earrings my grandmother gave me a few years before she died. They are stunning! I don’t get to wear them often because of how exquisite they are, but I always know where they sit. They are my treasure, and I keep them safe.
Treasure, by its very nature, is something so special we keep it safe, right? But there's something of more worth beyond any material or physical treasure. It’s eternal.
It’s Christ! Just like for Mary.
Any treasure, especially this one, is not something you forget; rather, it is something you dwell upon and recall with gratitude and longing. You think about it often. But it’s not hidden in some box or stored away in a bank—it’s hidden in your heart.
Stored, considered, thought about, and cherished with gratitude in the most sacred place you have—your heart.
It’s why Proverbs 4:23 tells us to guard it. Doesn’t that feel similar to a treasure box or bank account? To guard it and keep it safe.
There are two other verses in Scripture with a similar meaning, both in the book of Proverbs: Proverbs 2:1 and 7:1.
“Treasure up my commandments with you.”
What does this all mean for you today?
- You have the greatest treasure in Christ—a life built upon an everlasting Rock that leads to eternal life. It’s the most beautiful love possible.
- Hold that love close.
- Think about it, meditate on it, and be thankful for it.
- The most important thing in the whole world is to keep it in the safest place possible.
How might you treasure the beauty and mystery of Christ in your own life?
