Achieving Victory With Jesus预览
Pure clothes
“The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments” (Revelation 3:5)
Today we read about clothing — clothing with a symbolic meaning. White clothes represent purity and cleanliness.
Receiving the white clothes is directly related to the life these people lived. Jesus says of them, “You have still a few names in Sardis, people who have not soiled their garments, and they will walk with me in white, for they are worthy.” (Revelation 3:4)
How do you keep your clothes clean? By living a holy life. By distancing yourself from sinful practices. By remaining faithful to the Lord God. That was exactly what these believers were trying to do.
At the same time, no one will succeed in doing everything perfectly. John is very clear about this: “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” But then he writes something very special: If we confess our sins, God wants to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:8-9) Then He gives us new clothes. Thousands of years ago Isaiah sang about this: “I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation; He has covered me with the robe of righteousness” (Isaiah 61:10) Do you understand why this made Isaiah so happy? What does this teach you?

In various parts of the Bible, Jesus Christ draws our attention toward the blessings He has in store for believers who endure to the end. These promises are meant to encourage us to “run with endurance the race that is set before us”. For if we do so, we will achieve victory with Jesus!
