My Story, His Fingerprints

If I walk into the thick of danger,
you will preserve my life
from the anger of my enemies.
You will extend your hand;
your right hand will save me.

When have you seen doors open that you know were opened by God’s hand? Have you also seen doors close that you can now recognize as God’s hand, redirecting you to go a different way?

Every believer in Christ has experiences like those. The thing is, you have to look for them and take notice.

David knew this when he wrote Psalm 138:7. This was no name-it-and-claim-it type of proclamation. From tending sheep in the fields to dropping Goliath to his knees with a sling and a stone, from being anointed king of Israel to his days as a hunted man on the run in the wilderness, David had experienced God’s hand guiding his life. On many days, everything God had promised seemed unlikely to come to fruition. But David looked to God all along, and as he did, he saw God’s hand of protection and provision again and again.

And it grew David’s confidence.

For David, confidence in God’s loving hand grew ahead of personal knowledge of Christ; ours grows from it. Knowing you intimately long before you were born, God sent Jesus to pay for your sins. If you are a Christian, salvation is the ultimate example of God’s hand in your life. The truth is, you were destined for destruction, and He preserved your life from the enemy. God extended His loving hand to you—and saved you.

That story continues. God’s fingerprints are on every page. Will you look up and take notice?
