The Road to 1 Million Salvations预览
Day 2 - Salvation
I love the account of Mary and Martha in the Gospels, especially when it is applied to our hustling, busy, modern culture.
For those unfamiliar with the narrative surrounding these two names, allow me to break it down for you.
Mary and Martha are two sisters who lived in a village on the way to Jerusalem in Jesus’ time. Jesus and His disciples stopped by their home and rested awhile. Martha was very busy running around after Jesus and His disciples, preparing food and hosting. Meanwhile, Mary, her sister, saw the opportunity she had to have Jesus – the Son of God – in her home and simply sat at His feet.
The highlighted verse from today’s devotional tells us what Jesus thought of these two very different approaches to His company.
Martha was not scolded, but she was assured, gently, that her sister had chosen the better way. To sit at the feet of Jesus and be in relationship with Him was what was preferred.
Why do I tell you this story in a devotional day about salvation?
Because in this busy, hustling, chaotic-at-times life, only one thing matters: Jesus.
We can busy ourselves with friends, family, work, and social activities – all of which are not bad in and of themselves at all – but they are periphery to the only thing that will last into eternity – our relationship with Jesus.
Friends, this is why the road to one million salvations (for us here at CBN UK) and all other efforts to see more and more people saved from hell and brought into the kingdom of light are priorities.
We will only be able to take one thing with us into Heaven and that is other souls. I believe that the salvation that we had a hand in seeing come to pass will be credited to our heavenly account, and we will have a rich inheritance because of it.
What that will look like, I do not know, but I do know this:
One day, we will stand before our Creator God, and He will ask us what we did with the life He gave us and what we did with His Son who died for each one of us.
My hope and my prayer are that you will be able to stand before Him with great confidence and assurance that the salvation of others, as well as your own relationship with Jesus, was your priority on the earth.
Let’s throw off every weight that hinders us (see Hebrews 12:1) and focus our gaze on the path marked ahead of us. Only with this razor-sharp focus will we see the Kingdom of Heaven filled and hell plundered.
Question:
- Do you feel as though you have a relationship with Jesus? Why? Why not?
- What would your today look like if it was centered around the salvation of others?
