Flourish in Faith预览
Three Strings
God uses His people to encourage and strengthen one another. As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend (Proverbs 27:17). We get more accomplished in our own lives—and in the grand scheme of things—when we are open to the help and encouragement of others. If you see a friend in need of physical, emotional, or spiritual help—ask the Lord to give you the wisdom and understanding to be used in helpful ways. And when a friend offers similar help to you, don’t be too proud to accept it. Ask the Lord to guide you in finding a “three-string” accountability partner. Look for a Christian woman with a strong faith in the Lord who is willing to pray with you, encourage you in your faith, and be honest about your strengths and weaknesses. Meet together regularly and ask each other the hard questions: Were you faithful to the Lord this week? Did you gossip? Is there anything you’re struggling with right now? How can I pray for you? With God, you, and a trusted Christian friend working together, you become a rope of three strings that is hard to break!
Prayer: Father, thank You for using Your people to encourage and sharpen me. Guide me as I seek an accountability partner who will help me grow in my relationship with You. Amen.
