Run to Him!预览
Are you a pessimist?
People who are pessimistic expect the worst or at least a negative outcome. They often think, "I’ll never get it right" or "It will never work!"
They always view things from a negative perspective and often use excuses like "The glass is half empty." Pessimists tend to think this way to protect themselves from disappointment by preparing for the worst. This attitude can bring serious dangers with it, even the danger of not experiencing the full and wonderful power of your faith in all its abundance! Let me delve deeper into this today.
Pain. Suffering. Yes, even death. Jesus went through it all. If He had been a pessimist, you would have heard Him say in the midst of it all, "I'm going to die. This is all so terrible." And indeed, it was. He had to die. And He had that foreknowledge, as the following verse tells us:
“...And he said, ‘The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.’” (Luke 9:21-22 NIV)
Yes, He knew He would die. But He also believed that He would rise again! Even in the midst of tears, He did not let go of the joy of the future!
And you don't have to live as a pessimist either, because this time will pass! Make the decision today to renew your trust in God and believe that even this time will bring something good as we read and pray Psalm 32:
"Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!" (Psalm 32:7 NIV)
Don't let the joy of the future be taken away from you in the midst of tears!
You are a miracle!
