Lay the Foundation

Read the Scripture passage slowly and reverently. Listen for the word or phrase the Holy Spirit highlights for you.

  • "6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls." - 1 Peter 1:6-1:9

Sit quietly with the Lord, allowing His truth and His presence to minister to you.

Listen to the song and consider how it carries the message of 1 Peter 1:6-1:9

  • Reaffirm faith in Jesus - 1 Peter 1:6-9
  • Persevere in faith - 1 Peter 1:6-9
  • Hope in Jesus Christ - Romans 5:1-5

Respond to God’s invitation to stretch and grow in faith by asking Him for His help.

Knowing God is with you, listen to the song and worship, once more.

Altars: An Invitation to Meet With God

An altar moment is a holy encounter. It occurs when we set our heart’s intention on meeting with God and He meets with us. It is an opportunity to acknowledge our need for God, to worship Him, and to call on Him in honesty and vulnerability. It is a place of relationship, surrender, sacrifice, remembrance, communion, joy, asking, being seen, grieving, waiting, and more.
