Preparing to Meet Jesus预览
Be Ready!
The Bridegroom is coming! Jesus! All indicators point to the fact that His return is imminent.
The Bible tells us He will come suddenly, like “a thief in the night,” and that His followers will have no time to get ready, so they need to be ready to meet Him at any moment (see 1 Thessalonians 5:2, 2 Peter 3:10, Revelation 3:3, and Revelation 16:15). How prepared are you for that thrilling moment?
I (Anne) chose to become a follower of Jesus when I was a girl. Although at that time I was too young to understand that, while I had chosen to belong to Jesus the Father had chosen me also, I had an immediate sense of peace and joy, as though a burden had been lifted --one I hadn’t realized I was carrying.
Now, not only because of my age, but also because of world events, I know with certainty that I will soon meet Jesus face to face. I live on the tiptoe of expectancy that at any moment I might see the One who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Do you know that you also entered into this relationship when you put your trust in Jesus at the “marriage altar” of the Cross? The Father is not looking to “arrange” a marriage. He is looking for a Bride that will enter into a love relationship with His Son (Ephesians 5:31-32).
So, whether male or female, young or old, you were invited to come to the altar, say yes to Jesus, and make your vow of commitment to honor, obey, and love Him as long as you live. Then you can enjoy life as the Bride of the Son of God, looking forward with eager expectancy to the wedding supper of the Lamb (Revelation 19:9).
A beautiful story recorded in Genesis 24 describes the effort one father made to find a bride for his beloved son. This story is true, but it is also an incredible allegory of our heavenly Father who desires a worthy, radiant Bride for His Son, Jesus.
When you see your Bridegroom face to face, will you be pleasing to Him? What will you do now to be ready for that moment?
