Trust In God

I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered

That’s why I trust Him

Take a moment to pause and think of where you’d be without Jesus. Think about the times He’s come through for you. Think about the people He’s brought into your life. Remember the provision, wisdom, and direction He’s given at just the right time. And if all of that isn’t enough, then remember He’s the one who gave His life for you. He loves you. That’s why you can trust God with what you’re facing right now. Still, it’s much easier to look back on situations that are resolved than it is to see God at work right now. We experience trust as more of a feeling, and it doesn’t always FEEL like we can trust God with what we’re facing. That’s why Psalm 34 is so helpful. It’s a practical illustration of how we can shift our minds from fear to faith — from tension to trust.

Start with praise. Don’t wait to see how things work out before you praise God. He’s already done more than enough. Praise is a weapon. Use it.

Remember God’s faithfulness. Make a list. Say it out loud. Tell other people about it. Just like the beginning of this devotional, even pausing for a minute to let your mind recall God’s goodness can be a powerful reset for your thoughts.

Call out to God. When you speak, God hears you. You don’t have to say it a certain way; just sincerely bring your need to Him.

Declare God’s victory in your situation. God will come through for you. It’s in His nature to do that. He’s proven it in your life. You can trust He will move on your behalf.

If you’re struggling to trust God today, go through these four practices to remember God’s faithfulness and reset your mind to align with God’s truth.

Can You Imagine?

Whether you’re new in your relationship or you’ve been walking with Jesus for a while, it’s easy for your faith to lose its sense of expectation. Maybe you used to believe God for big things, but you’ve been disappointed, and now you find yourself rationalizing why He won’t come through. It’s time to remember that your God still does miracles, and He wants to move in your life.
