The True Nature of God Expressed in Jesus

God's judgments are right and true; He will avenge (protect or defend) His devoted ones. Jesus has declared us to be His bride—He who has no deception, whose intentions are pure and right, and who is completely powerful yet completely humble.

He clothed us in His own righteousness as our wedding dress when we were exposed and vulnerable (Isaiah 64:6, Isaiah 61:10, Zechariah 3:1-7, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Philippians 3:9).

His name is Faithful and True, so every prophecy and testimony will point to Him without disappointment. He cannot lie! And yes, He will expose and kill the deceiver and expose all false prophesy that doesn't embody the truth with the wrath of God, with a double-edged sword from His mouth (Hebrews 4:12-13).

Sometimes we question God's ways and judgments when we face difficulty, when someone dies unexpectedly, when we see suffering, and when we feel overlooked and abandoned by God. The enemy will always accuse us before God, but more importantly, he will falsely accuse God when we are most vulnerable because he has chosen to be deceitful and false.

We can embrace what Jesus has said, has done, and will do even when we can't see it quite yet; then, we will step into an undeniable reality that hell itself could never oppose and that springs forth from the indestructible life of Jesus. We are His bride. Let us embrace His righteousness, be confident in His victory, and believe His promises.

Question: How can you better safeguard Jesus' reputation in your heart when facing hardship and the enemy tries to deceive you?

Prayer: Meditate on how God's righteousness envelops you and give thanks that He is here to protect and defend you until the enemy of our soul is silenced.
