Daily Prayers for Grieving Hearts: A 21-Day Plan for Comfort on the Road to Recovery预览
HE HAS A PLAN FOR YOU
The student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his master. MATTHEW 10:24 NIV
When one’s heart is downcast, it’s difficult to think about anything except the surrounding brokenness and loss; trying to crawl out of the mire can be all-consuming. Just imagine how all-consumed Jesus was as He prepared to receive brutal beatings and be nailed to a cross. If He had to endure such pain in order to fulfill His Father’s bigger plan, we, too, will be faced with times of pain and challenges. We simply aren’t above it. Knowing this doesn’t necessarily ease our pain, but accepting whatever God allows in our lives—the good and the bad—is the first step toward the peace that comes out of pure and holy trust in Him. From a worldly view, Jesus’ death could be seen as a horrible mistake. From a heavenly view, His death was the most precious and ultimate gift God had to give. He had a plan for His Son all along, and He has a plan for your life as well.
Father, as much as I hurt, as hard as it is, help me to take my eyes off my loss and remember what You went through to sacrifice Your own Son for me. There is no doubt that You understand the depth of what I’m going through, and that brings me comfort. Be with me this day and instill in me the strength to give thanks to You— for the sacrifice You made and for how I can live with the simple knowledge of Your presence and holiness in my life.
IN JESUS’ NAME. AMEN.
读经计划介绍
Grief has many phases, and some phases make it difficult for us to find the words or motivation to pray. In the moments when we need God the most but can’t seem to connect with Him, this 21-day reading plan can give us language to bridge the gap. It helps you remember that God is close to the brokenhearted, deeply attentive to your pain, and capable of healing and restoring all of us. Each day, read a short message about a promise from God, find a corresponding Scripture, and let the daily prayer guide your time with the Lord.
