Daily Prayers for Grieving Hearts: A 21-Day Plan for Comfort on the Road to Recovery预览
ONE DAY AT A TIME
“Live one day at a time.” MATTHEW 6:34 TLB
Live one day at a time . . . This sounds simple and easy to do, yet it isn’t because our lives are not simple and easy. They are filled with complex details that can confuse, burden, complicate, and discourage a heart that’s already holding on by a thread. Sometimes we have to utilize the “power of the pen” by writing or journaling what we are facing, highlighting what can be done today, and let the rest go for tomorrow. If today includes being still, then be still. If it means accomplishing one task, then only do that task. If today is filled with the challenge to be grateful for one thing, then find that one thing and thank God with all your heart. The important thing to remember is not to allow unnecessary anxiety to creep in and rob you of this present moment, which is where God dwells. Right here, right now, He provides strength and hope for this moment in this day, one day at a time.
Lord, help me stop and be in this moment—in this state of prayer— with my heart. Guard my thoughts and expectations of what I think should happen today so that I can immerse myself in the sweet spot of Your presence. I know You never give me more than I can handle, so please help me not to give myself more than You say I should. Thank You for meeting with me here and now with the promise that You will be with me tomorrow as it comes.
IN JESUS’ NAME. AMEN.
读经计划介绍
Grief has many phases, and some phases make it difficult for us to find the words or motivation to pray. In the moments when we need God the most but can’t seem to connect with Him, this 21-day reading plan can give us language to bridge the gap. It helps you remember that God is close to the brokenhearted, deeply attentive to your pain, and capable of healing and restoring all of us. Each day, read a short message about a promise from God, find a corresponding Scripture, and let the daily prayer guide your time with the Lord.
