IMAGE OF GOD

The image of God was born 2,000 years ago, and that is a reason to celebrate every day of our lives! The exact likeness of God! Jesus said to his disciples in John 14:9, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you?” When reading the verse in John, we could conclude that the Father has been demonstrated to the disciples by the matured Christ. But it is in gazing upon Him that we look directly into the exact image of the Father. I genuinely believe that this image was in there all the time.
This was what the shepherds saw when they visited Jesus and made them go into the streets to tell everyone about who they had seen. His glory caused the wise men to fall on their knees in worship and give gifts fit for a King. The song ‘Mary did you know’ has one line: “Did you know when you kissed the face of Jesus, you kissed the face of God?”

Let us keep our focus on Jesus. He is the exact image of God! And like the shepherds, let us tell the world that we have seen and know the Son of God.
