Pour Out Your Heart in Prayer
Did you know that there is power in prayer? In the story of Hannah, we can read that she prayed in great distress.
1 Samuel 1:9-10 says, "Now it happened, when Hannah was at Shiloh, that she arose after supper. And in the sight of Eli the priest, who was sitting on his seat by the door of the sanctuary of the Lord, she began to pray to the Lord in great distress and to weep disconsolately." Something different happened in Hannah's heart that day.
Some time ago, I had the privilege of traveling to Israel, and I was able to see the site of the temple where Hannah prayed to God for her son. That was the place where Hannah poured her heart out to God.
When I saw it, I could not hold back tears, because I imagined her on her knees, crying out before God, full of anguish. I imagined her saying "Lord, I can't take it anymore, I need the miracle I am waiting for."
When was the last time you unburdened yourself before God? When was the last time you got down on your knees before his presence saying: "Lord, I can't take it anymore, I need you!"
God wants us to trust in Him at all times and in every situation. He wants us to be able to pray with courage and bravery.
Hannah brought her request to God with confidence. In the same way, today we can enter God's presence with confidence and pour out our petitions before Him.
The Bible tells us in Hebrews 4:16 to approach our God's throne of grace with all confidence, for there we can receive His mercy.
God knows every detail of your life, He knows your needs, but He wants you to be able to open your heart and trust Him. Don't stop praying! Don't give up, keep opening your heart before Him.
Prayer: Lord, I thank you that I can approach You with confidence and pour my heart out. I want You to be my first choice in times of joy and in times of trouble. Thank You for Your mercy. Amen.
